Mixed bed ion exchange system:
The mixed bed ion exchange system is a traditional and mature desalination treatment equipment. Its principle is to rely on the interaction between certain ions in the ion exchanger (resin) and ions of the same charge in the feed liquid under certain conditions. Exchange to achieve softening, alkali removal, desalination and other functions, used for deep desalination treatment.
The so-called mixed bed is to mix and fill a certain proportion of cation and anion exchange resins in the same exchange device to exchange and remove ions in the fluid. Since the specific gravity of the cation resin is larger than that of the anion resin, the anion resin is on the top and the cation resin is on the bottom in the mixed bed. The ratio of general positive and negative resin filling is 1:2, also can consider and select by different resins as appropriate.
In the mixed bed, since the anion and cation resins are mixed with each other, the anion and cation exchange reactions proceed almost simultaneously. When the mixed bed operation fails, it is necessary to try to separate the anion and cation resins for regeneration.
