Molecular Distillation:
Molecular distillation, also known as short-path distillation, is a liquid-liquid separation technology carried out under high vacuum conditions. It is especially suitable for the separation of high boiling point, heat sensitive and easily oxidized substances, and has been widely used in many fields.
Molecular distillation features:
1. The distillation and steaming space is high. An important factor for the molecular distillation apparatus to create a high vacuum system environment is that it has a good seal, and the internal pressure can be reduced to below 0.1Pa.
2. Low distillation temperature. Molecular distillation separation utilizes the difference in the mean free path of molecules, so the distillation temperature is much lower than the boiling point of the raw material, which solves the problem of heat sensitivity of high value-added chemicals.
3. High separation efficiency. Due to its irreversibility, the molecular distillation process can separate materials that cannot be separated by ordinary distillation. This feature makes molecular distillation technology applicable to the fields of food and medicine that require high-purity products.
4. The heating time of the material is short. The wiper of the molecular distillation apparatus makes the material form a uniform film on the surface of the evaporator, which increases the evaporation area, shortens the distillation time, reduces the probability of the material being decomposed by heat for a long time, and makes the separation more efficient and saves time and cost.
Application:
Molecular distillation systems are widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, petrochemical industry, food industry, etc.
