1. The principle of continuous ion exchange
An ion exchange system is a process in which an ion exchange resin is used to separate a liquid mixture containing electrolytes. The ion exchange reaction is generally reversible, and the exchanged ions can be desorbed (reverse exchange) under certain conditions to restore the ion exchanger to its original state, that is, the ion exchange resin can be used repeatedly through exchange and regeneration.
2. Features of continuous ion exchange system
Continuous ion exchange system is an emerging separation process technology system, which can be used to separate, purify and recover effective components or remove impurities in industrial feed liquids. This system is different from the traditional separation systems such as fixed bed and simulated moving bed. The system runs continuously, and all processes in the traditional resin separation process are concentrated in one system, which does not require tedious operations and has strong repeatability. The product has stable purity and concentration. Because the continuous ion exchange system enables multiple separation steps to be carried out simultaneously, the more complex the separation process, the more its advantages can be exerted.
3.Application areas
Continuous ion exchange system is mainly used for water treatment (softening and purification); refining and decolorization of solutions (such as liquid glucose); extraction of uranium and rare metals from mineral leachate; extraction of antibiotics from fermentation broth and recovery of precious metals from industrial wastewater, etc.
